Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 4, 2026

1. Overview

We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal data Exif Forge collects, why, and how it is used. We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following data:

  • Email address — collected by Lemon Squeezy at checkout, shared with us solely to associate your subscription with a license key.
  • License key — a randomly generated key issued after purchase, stored to validate your subscription status.
  • Subscription status — active, cancelled, or expired, received via webhook from Lemon Squeezy.

We do not collect, store, or process any files, metadata, or images that you edit with the Software. All file processing happens locally on your device.

We do not store payment information. Payments are handled exclusively by Lemon Squeezy.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

  • Validate your license key when the Software checks subscription status
  • Send transactional emails (purchase confirmation, cancellation notice) via Lemon Squeezy
  • Respond to support requests

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Cookies

This website does not use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies. Strictly necessary session cookies may be set by the hosting infrastructure (Vercel).

5. Third-Party Processors

  • Lemon Squeezy (lemon.squeezy.com) — payment processing and subscription management. Their Privacy Policy applies to data collected during checkout.
  • Vercel — website hosting. Vercel may collect standard server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) as described in their Privacy Policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your email address and license key for as long as your account is active. After cancellation, data is retained for 12 months for accounting and legal compliance purposes, then deleted.

7. Your Rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Object to processing or request restriction of processing
  • Data portability
  • Lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority (in Switzerland: the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, FDPIC)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@exifeditor.app.
